Quality Assurance is at the forefront of everything we do at CF Struthers, we employ a team of three full time Inspection Engineers within our Quality Department to ensure that everything we produce is made to the exacting standards required by our clients.
Some of the day to day activities of our Quality Department include:
Weld inspections, Non-Destructive Testing, reviewing radiographs, as-built dimensional checking, reviewing material traceability certificates, organising hydro testing, compiling Manufacturing Record Books (MRB’s), assessing paint DFT, Positive Material Identification.
Certification
■ CF Struthers is authorised by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) to manufacture pressure vessels which carry the ASME ‘U’ Stamp.
■ CF Struthers is authorised by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) to manufacture power boilers, power piping and ASME pressure retaining components which carry the ASME ‘S’ Stamp.
■ CF Struthers is approved by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance to ISO 9001:2015
■ CF Struthers is approved by Lloyds Register to EN 1090 ExecutionClass 2

Non Destructive Testing (NDT)
At CFS we employ a rigorous regime of NDT for our pressure and non-pressure fabrications. We use an independent 3rd party UKAS Accredited organisation: IRIS NDT based in Immingham, UK.
Utilising the capabilities of IRIS, we are able to perform the following:
■ Gamma ray Radiography (RT) of butt welds in accordance with the requirements of ASME V Article 2 and BS EN ISO 17636 Class A & B.
■ Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI)
■ Ultrasonic Inspection (UT)
■ Dye Penetrant Inspection (DPI)
■ Positive Material Identification (PMI)
■ Hardness Testing
■ Ferrite Testing
■ Pre and Post Weld Heat Treatment
